Late Fee/Delinquent Account Policy

Late Fee
A $15.00 late fee will be assessed monthly if not paid by the day before the last business day of the following month.  Example:  March water usage billing done on last business day of March is due on or before the day prior to the last business day of April. 

Past Due Accounts:
Property owners that have past due accounts will receive the regular monthly billing statement.  The statement will be clearly stamped "PAST DUE".

The owner of an account that has reached 61 days past due will be notified by a notice hung on the resident's door stating water service will be discontinued within 24 hours. If the property is occupied by a renter, the property owner will also be notified by phone that water service will be discontinued within 24 hours.

Payment must include the full past due amount plus $200 for disconnect ($100)  and reconnect ($100)  fees and be remitted to the Town of Rye before water service will be reinstated.

Payment on delinquent accounts will be paid in cash or money order.

Rental Properties:
Water/sewer bills are sent to the property owner.   It is the property owners responsibility to pay all water/sewer bills.
