On December 6, 2022, the Board of Trustees passed Ordinance 2022-10 implementing an IP Program & Oil and Grease Management Program effective January 1, 2023. This Ordinance directly effects establishments in the Town of Rye such as restaurants, cafes, schools, daycare centers, automotive service shops, car washes, etc. and will require the installation, use, and management of grease/oil interceptors or sand/oil interceptors.
To determine if your establishment falls under the definition a FOG or POG Facility and to review the requirements for such facilities, please review Ordinance 2022-10, a pdf version can be found on the Town of Rye website under IP Program & Oil and Grease Management Program tab, or a copy of which can be requested by emailing the Town Clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org. Biannual “Facility Compliance Reporting Forms” and “Grease or Oil Removal Device Maintenance Logs” have also been added to the Town of Rye website.
