Winter Weather Reminders

Winter weather will soon be upon us! We encourage everyone to be prepared. Here are some tips to help prevent your pipes from freezing:

  • Let Faucets Drip: Allow indoor faucets to drip lightly—there's no need for a heavy stream; a small drip is sufficient.
  • Open Cabinet Doors: Open the cabinet doors under all sinks (kitchen, bathroom, etc.) to allow warm air to circulate around the water pipes.
  • Adjust Your Thermostat: Turn up your thermostat now to ensure your home is warm and prepared before below-zero temperatures arrive.

Once the snow season begins- please make sure your car is parked off the road to ensure you don’t get plowed in. The Town of Rye, Pueblo County, and our third-party plowing contractor is not responsible for removing snow from cars and/or driveways that get plowed in as is typical every year.

If you experience a water line break and need to have your meter turned off, please call the Town Clerk at 719-489-2011 for immediate assistance.
